Not in a tricksy way, oh no, because that would be naughty and deceitful and Not The Way we do things round here. But since I've rediscovered my Microplane grater thingy I've discovered that so many things simply taste nicer, sweeter, moister and lighter with the addition of our orangey pal. And yes I am aware that moister is not a word.
I may have mentioned before that a carrot and cheese and a spot of cumin toasted in a pita pocket is very tasty, but I've since branched out and started adding them to any and every burger-style recipe on this blog. A carrot and a half into the harissa burgers? Lovely. Likewise the chickpea burgers (were they Moomin's?), a very finely grated carrot seems to help with the dryness.
So think on, ladies, remember the carrot is our friend.

This feels like a scene out of Narnia. "I am from the Land of Keen-wa in the country of Micro Plane."
Looking forward to the next installment though, as I have never got the point of the Grain of the Inca - or whatever it is those clever marketing people have branded quinoa. Re: Re: I am grating carrot into Everything...
so far my impression is of bland grit. i'm dreading it but i must press on. it's proteiny, it's omega 3 oily, it can be used as a carb but without the attendant 'oh dear that was nice, now i must go to sleep for five hours' feeling... it's a superfood.
apparently if you stir it into a stew you hardly notice it. Re: Re: Re: I am grating carrot into Everything...

We have found that it needs longer cooking than it says on the packet to turn it from grit into something more like cooked brown rice with added little spirals. I like it added to things, but DH will eat it instead of rice. DS not so enthused, as it falls through the prongs of the fork that he is now using. Adding stock to the water when you cook it helps.
My preferred way to eat it is as flour in the gluten free carrot cake from the hippy trippy biodynamic health food shop, that fortunatly I can't get to very often.... Re: I am grating carrot into Everything...

I am still running scared of Keenwah after my last go (and besides, I never liked her in America's Next Top Model - snooty).
Grated carrot though - we are big fans in the Bunny household. A last minute addition to stir fries is also very efficacious - but literally last minute otherwise it is horrid. The use of microplane graters tends to add a judicious soupcon of my fingertips.... Re: Re: I am grating carrot into Everything...
yes, bunny. but don't tell the vegetarians.
