Sorry about the delay, I got sent them last month but I've been hellishly busy with work and Christmas and a new babe and bfing a preemie (did i mention the bfing? Did I? [manic gleam]).
So if you can advise that would be great. I've got five copies here, happy to post them out in the best way possible. My inclination is to say to the next five newbs who intend to sign up to the forum (link is on the left) that they should email me at aitch at babyledweaning dot com once they've got their sign-up etc and I'll post them out, but if you lot fancy a comp then I'll get my quizzing head on...
P.S. And whoever wins them has to write a review, that's the deal.
P.P.S. In fact, should those of us who have a copy write a live review together online? We could work through the chapters like the BLW ultra-geeks we are.

What's the Fairest and Best thing to do with these Gill Rapley BLW books? Do we want a competition or will we just give them to some newbies?

Hi Aitch
I would like to create an account but I am having terrible trouble. When I enter my details and press sign up nothing my details come up again and nothing happens. There is no conformation of details and I can't logon. Can you give me some pointers? I would love to be able to post my thoughts and get some help with gagging. Thanks Ariel Re: Re: What's the Fairest and Best thing to do with these Gill Rapley BLW books? Do we want a competition or will we just give them to some newbies?

Darn it looks like I joined 24 hours too early! I don't think I would be able to do a live review as I am going back to work in Feb with my LO going to nursery 3 times a week so not sure how by the book I will be able to be, however would be quite happy to write a generic review after having read it!

Give them to local libraries, that way lots of people can benefit?

That's a great idea, or I know our local NCT leader keeps a baby library I am sure donation to that would be gratefully received as well.

I'd have to say give them to some newbies lol... but that's cause I'm a newbie and can't afford the book! I'm so interested in it! (Love to have DH read some too, he's clueless....) But am excited even if you do some competition too... I'll compete - I will, I will! *thumbs up*

OH yeah, and I'll do a review too... promise! And I've already joined the forum, would that disqualify me? Hrm. :o(

I'd say send it to a newbie but that is mostly because I am one and I cant seem to find the book in any store here in Canada.

it has been pointed out to me that, dur, only people who want the book will enter the competition in any case. what an eejit i am.
righto, i'll have a think about the question and then link it to tthe forum, how does that sound? Re: Re: Re: What's the Fairest and Best thing to do with these Gill Rapley BLW books? Do we want a competition or will we just give them to some newbies?

I desperately need the book. I'm having such a horrid time weaning my nearly 7 month old. When I weaned (purees .... as never heard of BLW) my daughter 4 years ago, it was such a joy and she ate absolutely everything. I've started weaning my son the same way but he is not having it. Spits out all the purees I've made and basically lives on toast and rice biscuits. I only just found out about this blog. I wish I had the time to read it all but with a slow internet connection and 2 kids to run after, I hardly have any time. Am starting work soon too so I want to try and get his weaning 'sorted'.
I've joined the forum and will enter the competition. I've been to the local libraries and have not found the book. None of my friends have ever heard of BLW either so I have no one to go to for advice. Thanks Cheryl Re: Re: Re: Re: What's the Fairest and Best thing to do with these Gill Rapley BLW books? cheryl, you poor thing.
here's how to do BLW, though... just relax, the toast and rixe cakes are great, now let him at the food the other two are having. so long as no salt no peanuts etc. easy-peasy! Is there a competition up yet? I haven't seen.... maybe I should look harder... lol.
Yes, easy peasy! My LO's doing ok w/BLW we're in week 2 now, and he just plays a lot ... eats some, plays with the rest... but I know he's learning so I am taking it in stride :) Good luck!! Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: What's the Fairest and Best thing to do with these Gill Rapley BLW books? Do we want a competition or will we just give them to some newbies?
right i'm going to put up the competition question tomorrow and then people can email me and i'll draw the names out of a hat, okay? that's as fair as i can make it, i think. i can't be too specific about the time cos, well, cos i have a life and every time i think 'i must put that comp up' some blithering idiot rings my doorbell to wish me the compliments of the season...
