Re: Re: Boomer turns 1
by Morv
Moomin, I don't know if this may help- In the morning the waking up routine (whether is was 2, 4 or 7!) was Boomer would wake, cry and I would haul her into bed and wap a nipple out. She took and feed and usually we would all go back to sleep. This was so ingrained in our routine that I was a bit worried that I would have no way of convincing her to go back to sleep or it might also be a bit of a shock to her and hence quite distressing. What I have been doing and it seems to work is when she wakes is pick her up go to the fridge and pour her a glass of milk. I then take her back through and sit with her in bed and let her drink it in a vaguley nusing position. It seems to satisfy herr morning hunger and cuddle routine. Of course my bedsheets are now covered in milk but the amount of things that have covered our sheets over the last year I hardly care. I know that you do have the whole milk issue but if you could find a subsitute or equally perhapes water you may could try this at bedtime instead of the mumy feed? Before christmas I also was strarting to try and not bfd her just before bed so that she would go down without the feed - although I do emphasis try as often I just gave in. In the end the only thing that worked was just stopping! I am going to try and find out how much milk they need after one, I do know that calcium can come from plenty other sources so Ill get back to you on this.
