dear Anonymous (I presume you do have another name! but this will have to do!) Althoug it may feel like you have been doing blwing for ages there is still plenty of time for your LO to develop his eating. It is very common at the start to feel like they are eating nothing and all you are really doing is creating an elaborate method of redistributing piles of food onto the floor. I think the best advice is just to hang in there, keep offering him bits of food , like fruit, soft veg, toast (if not worried about wheat), rice cakes etc. I personally found that in the first few months Boomer was really not interested in trying food unless others were eating at the same time.
The whole weaning process is a gradual thing so I find it hard to remember any breakthrough point but it was definatly about 91/2 mths before Boomer was 'wanting' food i.e. seeming hungry and eating with real intent.
If your HV supports and understands blw then she too should understand that although this may feel very frustrating at the moment it will pay dividends in the end. It is hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel especially when others may be following a different path for weaning and are already onto three meals a day and a cigar before bed.
