just wanted to add that i have successfully introduced dd's nursery to BLW! they have been really supportive (even when dd takes an hour for lunch!) and have said how they can see the logic in the whole idea! hurray!! am preparing for self spoon feeding this weekend... so if anyone reading is wondering whether to ask their nursery to back them up with it, go for it!!
