Re: I think we have a little intolerance. Allergy queens, your advice please?
by JennT
DD got those wheals the 3rd time she had egg. The first time was just red, second time was red and a bit raised, and the third time she got red raised blisters and looked a right mess. Thing was though, it was scrambled egg the third time, that was painted all over her face, and the first couple of times it was rather more solid egg in spanish omelette. I was quite worried about the wheals, but NHS direct weren't. She didn't have any trouble with her breathing or swelling in her mouth so they said just keep an eye on her. She certainly hasn't had an allergic reaction to eating egg containing foods since, although I haven't tried smearing scabby egg on her face. It was definitely a topical reaction, and not a proper allergy. We've had a similar (but much milder) reaction to fresh tomatoes, but not tomatoes cooked in a sauce. Dd isn't keen on raw anyway, so I'm not too worried. Hope this info helps. JennT
