well, yes. it's a toss-up, isn't it? there does come a point imo at which you think that your child can eat food properly and in a timely fashion. but that's just imo. for me, dd always ate brazil nuts in such a way as she wasn't swallowing more than brazil nut mush, so i felt fine about it personally. say for example grapes... i do cut them in half but sometimes that's not practical or she's at someone else's house etc. so i also prioritise the manner in which she eats them. she knows if she gets a whole one that she MUST burst it in half before the whole thing goes into her mouth. so in a way, that does seem to me to be a good lesson in how to deal with life and not choke, iykwim?
