Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Fibernie's Guide To Meal Planning (so that we stop giving all of our money to supermarkets and Get Organised)

Can't get DP to touch fennel. I'm feeling slightly wistful about it now... Just butting in cos we do the food planning thing now, despite DPs intial resistence. He likes the idea of spontaneity, but after a while had to admit that he was lacking in inspiration (he does most of the evening cooking, thank the lord) and our compost heap was eating better than we were, due to the veg box being emptied into it almost untouched. We have lunch challenges, as Madame IzzyMouse doesn't deign to do sandwiches, or egg, or anything else that's whippable upable in a trice, so we now cook about 1.5 extra portions of our evening meal: one baby-sized portion for next day's tea, which I share a mouthful of so I'm Sitting Down And Eating With You, Look, and one me plus baby sized portion, to go into the freezer for a lunch the following week. So, when I come to plan a week's menu, the lunches are already sorted. I know it might sound a tad repetitive, but we have more than 7 meals in our repertoire so there's actually very little crossover in a weeek, excepting all time favourites that have to make the cut.
